Privacy Policy

Bahamian Traveler is a car rental booking platform for eligible travelers from The Bahamas and the Caribbean, offering rates from suppliers such as Alamo, National, and Enterprise. Zimple Rentals, Inc. is the company that operates the Site and processes bookings and related communications.

We collect information you provide and information generated when you use the Site:

• Account & profile data — such as name, email address, password, phone number, mailing address, city, state/province, postal code, country, and membership type (for example Regular or Elite / BT Rewards).
• Booking & travel data — such as pickup/return locations and dates, driver age band, rental plan preferences, loyalty or corporate codes you enter, vehicle selections, reservation/voucher identifiers, and related itinerary details.
• Payment-related data — when you pay for a prepaid rental, membership upgrade, or other charge, payment card details are handled through our payment processor (currently Square where enabled). In that flow, card data is typically tokenized in your browser and sent to the processor; we receive payment tokens, transaction results, and limited billing metadata rather than storing full card numbers and CVV on our application servers. If an alternate gateway path is used, card fields may be submitted to complete the charge under that processor’s controls. We do not sell your payment card information.
• Support communications — messages you send by email, phone, on-site chat, or other support channels, including any reservation details you share.
• Technical & usage data — IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, referral URLs, and similar diagnostics needed to operate and secure the Site.
• Cookies & similar technologies — session cookies for login and booking state, preference cookies, referral tracking cookies where used, and third-party analytics/chat cookies described below.

We use personal information to:

• Create and manage your account and BT Rewards / membership status
• Search availability, create, modify, and support car rental reservations
• Process payments, refunds, vouchers, and related fraud checks
• Send booking confirmations, service messages, and (where applicable) marketing or offer emails
• Provide customer support and resolve disputes
• Improve Site performance, security, and user experience
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

We share information only as needed to operate the service:

• Car rental suppliers / booking partners — reservation and traveler details required to fulfill your booking (for example name, contact information, itinerary, and rate/plan identifiers) are transmitted to the relevant supplier systems through secure API connections.
• Payment processors — such as Square, to authorize and settle charges.
• Service providers — hosting, email delivery, analytics, and customer support tools that process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
• Legal & safety — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell your personal information.

The Site may use:

• Google Analytics (GA4) — to understand traffic and booking-funnel performance (for example page views and key events such as search submitted or booking confirmed).
• Live chat tooling (for example Tawk.to, when loaded) — to provide optional customer support chat.

These providers may set their own cookies or receive technical data subject to their privacy policies. You can use browser controls to limit cookies; some Site features (login, booking) require essential cookies to function.

We may email you about your reservations, account, policy updates, and — where permitted — offers relevant to Bahamian Traveler customers. You may use unsubscribe links in marketing emails where provided, or contact us at support@zimplerentals.com. Transactional messages about bookings or account security may still be sent.

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. If you have an account, you may also update certain profile details in your dashboard/profile area.

To make a request, email support@zimplerentals.com. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity. We retain information while your account is active and as needed for bookings, accounting, dispute resolution, and legal requirements.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data, including access controls and encryption in transit (HTTPS) for the Site and for sensitive payment/booking transmissions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Site is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly offer bookings or accounts to anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our suppliers or processors operate, which may have different data-protection rules than your country of residence.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective” date above will be revised when changes are posted. Material changes may also be communicated by Site notice or email to the address on your account. Continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
