At airport locations across Florida—including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville—debit cards are accepted for car rentals, provided the renter meets the following additional requirements:

• A valid driver’s license issued outside the United States or Canada

• A valid passport issued outside the United States or Canada

• A roundtrip travel itinerary that matches the rental dates

• A deposit of approximately $150 USD, in addition to the estimated rental charges

Vehicle eligibility is limited to select categories:

• Econmy, Compact, Intermediate, Midsize, Standard, and Full size

• Small SUVs (Small, Intermediate or Standard)

• 7-passenger minivans like the Chrysler Pacifica

Please note: Debit cards are not accepted for luxury, premium, large vans (more than 7 passengers), or specialty vehicles.

Assistance with the rental car during the rental can be clasified in three different categories:

1. Non-mechanical situations
   1. Lost of Keys
   2. Lockouts (keys locked in the car)
   3. Flat Tires
   4. Running out of Fue
2. Mechanical Issues
   1. Transmission
   2. Car will not start (Battery is charged)
3. Accidents / Damages
   1. Minor fender benders
   2. Broker Windshield or Windows
   3. Major Damages due to Accidents

In all cases renter should contact the car rental company directly by calling the number given with the documentation at time of rental.
Assistance will be provided in all instances regardless if the optional "Emergency Road Assistance" coverage was accepted at time of rental.

If the Emergency Roadside Assistance coverages was accepted at time of rental, the car rental company will dispatch help without additiona cost to the renter. If the coverage was declined, renter will be responsible for the cost of any service provided.

If the asssitance is require for mechanical reason the car rental company will dispatch assitance without financial charges to the renter. 

If the assistance is due to an accident / damage

• If the rental car be drive safely, the renter can choose to keep the car until the end of the rental or return to a location immediately. In either case, renter should allow enough time to complete an accident report required by the car rental company.
  • If returning the car prior to the end of the rental, location will make de determination to provide or not provide a new vehicle.
• If the car in not in dirving conditions, car rental company will dispatch a towing vehicle to retrieve the car. 
• If no injuries, customer should contact car rental location for instruccion about completing the accident report and car replacemente conditions.
• If injuries are involved and renter cannot make it to the car rental company, the accident report can wait until renter is able to complete online or visit the car rental company.

Employees of the local rental car company are not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the customers personal auto insurance coverage. An authorization in the amount of the total cost of the rental plus 15% may be taken at the time of rental. This authorization amount may be used toward damages of vehicles or late charges.

Debit/check cards are considered to be any non-credit card American Express, MasterCard, VISA, Diners Club, Discover logo. Debit/Check cards are not accepted at this location.

If renting with cash a deposit in the amount of $1500.00 USD plus the cost of the rental will be taken at the time of rental. This deposit amount may be used toward damages of vehicles or late charges

Enterprise

Enterprise Plus customers can earn points on qualifying rentals and redeem points at this location. Redemption reservations must be booked online by the customer, in advance of their scheduled pick up date.

Emerald Club customers can earn credits on qualifying rentals at this location. Redemption reservations must be booked in advance of their scheduled pick up date (either online or by phone).

Must meet the locations minimum age requirements.

Present a valid drivers license from country of origin. A temporary BVI (British Virgin Islands) drivers license is required by law for all drivers at a cost of $10.00 USD if renting for more than 30 days. Temporary license is good for 90 days and must be paid for in cash. If renter has a local drivers license, no need to purchase temporary license.

Present a major credit card in renters name at the time of rental.

International drivers must provide a valid license from their country of residence. In addition to the drivers license, if the characters are not in English or Latin characters, an international drivers permit is recommended. If the drivers license is in characters other than Latin, an International permit is required or a Notarized English Translation is accepted.

Alamo / National

Roadside Plus (RSP) - If selected and paid for at the time of rental, Owner offers Roadside Plus, which provides 24/7 roadside assistance without additional charge.

RSP includes replacement of lost keys (including remote entry devices), flat tire service (if no inflated spare is available, vehicle will be towed) and fuel delivery service (limited supply to help reach nearest gas station).

Enterprise

Roadside Assistance Protection (RAP) - If selected and paid for at the time of rental, Owner offers Roadside Assistance Protection, which provides 24/7 roadside assistance without additional charge.

RAP includes replacement of lost keys (including remote entry devices), flat tire service (if no inflated spare is available, vehicle will be towed) and fuel delivery service (limited supply to help reach nearest gas station).

Unrestricted driving within Nicaragua. Renters wishing to visit Costa Rica must prearrange at time of rental, for a vehicle exchange at the Nicaragua or Costa Rica border. A three -3 - day minimum notice is required. Upon vehicle exchange at the border, the original agreement is closed and a second rental agreement is issued by Alamo Costa Rica - same rate is applied. A vehicle exchange fee totaling 50 USD is assessed, 25 USD charged by Nicaragua when the original agreement is closed plus 25 USD charged by Costa Rica when the new agreement is opened. When the renter returns to Nicaragua, the same process applies plus an additional 50 USD exchange fee. Renters not planning to return to Nicaragua must notify the rental location in Nicaragua when prearranging the vehicle exchange.

Third Party Liability (TPL) The purchase of Third Party Liability (TPL) is required by the rental location on all vehicles unless you provide proof of liability coverage or purchase the National Protection Package (NPP), which includes TPL. Customers can obtain coverage for damages and injuries to third parties, up to the policy limits, under the local rental car companys insurance by purchasing its TPL protection, and such a purchase is required unless the customer presents valid written proof of current liability insurance specifying coverage in Nicarcagua or if the customer purchases National Protection Package (NPP) which includes TPL. TPL provides coverage for incidents which occur during the rental period in Nicargua. TPL coverage is subject to the actions listed on the rental agreement that invalidate the coverage as described in the rental agreement. A deductible of up to $5,000 USD applies.Please be aware that most auto insurance policies from outside of Nicaragua do not provide coverage in Nicaragua. Liability insurance purchased on third party travel websites is not an acceptable form of coverage. Employees of the local rental car company are not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the customers personal auto insurance coverage. The renter should contact their insurance company prior to arrival with any questions regarding their specific coverage.

All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements. All additional drivers must appear at the rental counter, present their drivers license, and sign the rental agreement. Additional drivers can only be added to the contract at the start of the rental at the pick-up location. An additional driver fee of 10.00 USD per day applies.

 

3. Age Requirements

All Brands

The minimum age requirement to rent all vehicles is 25. The maximum age to rent is 75. Renters between the age of 21 and 24 may rent all categories except Premium or luxury sedans, and Standard SUVs or larger. A young driver fee of 20.00 USD per day applies to all renters between the age of 21 and 24.

 

4. Alamo Protection Package

Alamo

Alamo Protection Package (APP) is a package product which includes Collision Damage Waiver-Theft Protection (CDW-TP), Deductible Protection (DP), and Roadside Assistance Plus (RSP) at a discounted price. Alamo Protection Package (APP) is not insurance. The purchase of APP is optional and not required in order to rent a vehicle. If you purchase APP, the rental company contractually waives your responsibility for the cost of damage to, loss or theft of the vehicle, subject to the actions listed on the rental agreement that invalidate the coverage as described in the rental agreement. APP Does not cover damage to tires. No deductible applies.

5. Cross Border Policy

All Brands

Vehicles cannot be driven in any other country . Ferry crossings with the vehicle are permitted but are restricted to the sovereign state of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

 

6. Damage Waiver

All Brands

Collision Damage Waiver-Theft Protection (CDW-TP) is not insurance. The purchase of CDW-TP is optional and not required to rent a vehicle. If you purchase CDW-TP, the rental company contractually waives your responsibility for the cost of damage, theft and the loss of the vehicle after the deductible, unless you invalidate the coverage as provided in the rental agreement. A deductible of up to 1,500.00 USD will apply, depending on the size of vehicle. CDW-TP is included in all Protection Packages. Please be aware that most auto insurance policies from outside St. Vincent and the Grenadines do not provide coverage in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Employees of the local rental car company are not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the customers personal auto insurance coverage. The renter should contact their insurance company prior to arrival with any questions regarding their specific coverage. Further, if the renter declines both CDW-TP and APP, the renter is responsible for the full value of damage to, loss, or theft of the vehicle.

 

7. Deductible Protection

All Brands

Deductible protection - DP - is not insurance. The purchase of DP is optional and not required in order to rent a vehicle. If you purchase DP, the rental company contractually waives your responsibility of all deductibles associated with the Collision Damage Waiver-Theft Protection, unless you invalidate the coverage as provided in the rental agreement.

 

8. Delivery and Collection

Alamo

This location offers a collection and delivery service to all customers. Vehicles can only be delivered and collected during the operating hours of the location. Deliveries and collections are possible within a 5 mile radius of the rental location. No charge applies for the delivery and collection service. Customers must email the branch at customer.service@alamo.vc to arrange a delivery or collection.

Enterprise

This location offers a collection and delivery service to all customers. Vehicles can only be delivered and collected during the operating hours of the location. Deliveries and collections are possible within a 5 mile radius of the rental location. No charge applies for the delivery and collection service. 10. Forms of Payment

All Brands

All major debit and credit cards, issued by either American Express, Mastercard, Visa and Discover Card are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renters name. Digital cards (Apple Pay/Google Pay etc.), prepaid cards and retail store cards are not accepted as methods of payment. Debit cards can be used at the start of the rental, if flight departure and arrival information is provided. Debit cards can also be used at the end of the rental to pay for any outstanding balances. A security deposit plus the estimated cost of the rental will be taken at the time of rental. The deposit is 500 USD for all vehicle categories. The deposit amount may be used toward damages to the vehicle or late charges.

 

11. National Protection Package

National

National Protection Package (NPP) is a package product which includes Collision Damage Waiver-Theft Protection (CDW-TP), Deductible Protection (DP), and Roadside Assistance Plus (RSP) at a discounted price. 12. One Way Drop Policy

All rentals where the vehicle is not returned to the same location as it was collected from will be subject to a one-way fee. This one-way fee varies based on car category, location, and pick-up date. The exact amount of the one-way fee will be displayed during the reservation process when entering the dates, the desired route, and car category.

 

13. Refueling Service

All Brands

As a customer, you can choose how to pay for fuel when returning the vehicle.

Fuel Policy at Non-Airport locations:

You may refuel the vehicle to the same level as received at the time of rental.

If you choose not to refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level, you will be charged the local rate, which is typically above the local fuel price. A full tank of fuel is not guaranteed.

Fuel Policy at Airport Locations:

You may refuel the vehicle to the same level as received at the time of rental. If you choose not to refuel the vehicle to the same level, you will be charged the local rate, which is typically above the local fuel price.

You may opt to prepay for fuel. Prepay gives you two conveniences:

You can avoid the hassle of refueling the vehicle before returning.

You will be charged for the full tank of fuel upfront at a lower rate than the local fuel price and you can return the vehicle empty.

Note: Prepaid fuel is only sold in full tanks at the discounted price per gallon/liter. Local fuel rates will vary by the area in which you are renting a vehicle.

 

14. Renter Requirements

All Brands

All drivers must present a fully valid driving license. Electronic or digital driving licenses are not accepted. In addition, all foreign renters must present a valid passport. Local renters may present a passport or another government-issued photo ID. A valid debit or credit card in the renters name must be presented upon collection of the vehicle. If the driving license is written in a language and characters different from those of the country of rental, an International Driving Permit is also required. Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential fines. Renters with licenses from countries who are not part of the International Driving Permit Agreement should carry a certified translation. Renters who do not reside in the country of rental must provide proof of return travel and accommodation information.

 

15. Roadside Protection

All Brands

Roadside Protection (RAP) is available 24/7 at no extra cost if selected and paid for at the time of rental.RAP includes towing (not related to an accident), flat tire service and towing (if no inflated spare is available), and lockout service (if keys are locked inside the vehicle). Additionally, jumpstarts and fuel delivery service for up to 5 gallons (or equivalent liters) of fuel are also provided. Tire damage beyond repair resulting from driver neglect is the responsibility of the renter. RAP does not include the replacement of lost keys including remote entry devices. The cost for a replacement key will be added to the rental agreement. Roadside protection is also available without payment of this flat-rate fee. It will then be billed according to the actual costs incurred for each assistance service rendered. Roadside Protection is an optional product. Before purchasing customers are advised to check if personal coverage is adequate.

16. Third Party Liability

Third Party Liability (TPL) is included in the Time and Mileage rate. TPL provides you with up to $250,000 XCD for bodily injury and up to $500,000 XCD for property damage. This meets or exceeds the minimum financial responsibility limits, at no additional charge to you, as outlined in the applicable motor vehicle financial responsibility laws of the country where the vehicle is rented. TPL coverage is subject to the actions listed on the rental agreement that invalidate the coverage as described in the rental agreement.

6. Basic Liability Coverage

All Brands

Basic Liability Coverage, which is included in the rate, is, in relation to death or bodily injury, $1,000,000 TTD (approximately $145,000 USD) for any one claim by any one person up to $2,000,000 TTD (approximately $290,000 USD) for total - claims arising from any one incident, and, in relation to third party property damage, $500,000 TTD (approximately $70,000 USD) for any one claim from any one person up to $1,000,000 TTD (approximately $145,000 USD) for total claims arising from any one accident.

 

7. Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection

All Brands

Collision Damage Waiver - Theft Protection (CDW-TP) is not insurance. The purchase of CDW-TP is optional and not required in order to rent a vehicle. You can purchase optional CDW-TP for an additional cost. If you purchase CDW-TP, we agree, subject to the actions listed in the rental agreement that invalidate CDW-TP, to contractually waive its liability for part of the cost for damage, theft and the loss of the vehicle after a deductible. A deductible of up to 2,000.00 USD will apply, depending on the size vehicle.

If CDW-TP is declined, the renter is responsible for the full value of damage to or loss of the vehicle.

 

8. Cross Border Policy

All Brands

Driving restricted within the Island of Trinidad only. Driving restricted within the Island of Tobago only.

 

9. Deductible Protection

All Brands

Deductible Protection (DP) may be purchased as an additional protection along with Collision Damage Waiver-Theft Protection (CDW-TP). DP reduces the renters CDW-TP deductible to 0.00 USD.

13. Loyalty Availability

Enterprise

Enterprise Plus customers can earn points on qualifying rentals and redeem points at this location. Redemption reservations must be booked online by the customer, in advance of their scheduled pick up date.

Emerald Club customers can earn credits on qualifying rentals at this location. Redemption reservations must be booked in advance of their scheduled pick up date (either online or by phone).

Note: Emerald Club members can earn credits on National and Enterprise brand rentals, but can only redeem at National brand locations. A reservation must be booked in advance, and must have the member number attached in order to earn credit/points.

National

Emerald Club customers can earn credits on qualifying rentals and redeem free days at this location. Redemption reservations must be booked in advance of their scheduled pick up date (either online or by phone).

All one way rentals must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.

One way charges apply and are payable at time of rental.

One way charges cannot be prepaid.

 

16. Refueling Service

All Brands

Customers can choose from the following refueling options.

Option 1- Prepay Fuel This option allows the renter to pay for the full tank of gas at the time of rental and return the tank empty. The price is based on an estimate of current fuel prices at a discounted rate and the average tank size for the car received. No refunds will be issued for unused fuel.

Option 2- We Refill

This option allows the renter to pay at the end of the rental for fuel used but not replaced. The price per gallon will be higher than local fuel prices, a surcharge will apply.

Option 3- You Refill

This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with the same level of fuel as received to avoid extra fuel charges.

 

17. Renter Requirements

All Brands

All drivers must meet the locations minimum age requirements.

Renters must present a major credit card in renters name at the time of rental.

All drivers must present a valid drivers license from country of origin. In addition to the drivers license, if the characters are not in English or Roman, an International drivers permit is recommended. If the drivers license is in characters other than Roman, an International drivers permit is required or a notarized English translation required.

Local Law in Trindad and Tobago only allows the rental company to rent to individuals with a valid drivers license from the following countries:

If you do not have a valid drivers license from one of the Allowed Countries, you may not rent a vehicle in Trinidad and Tobago.

Trinidad and Tobago law states that a foreigner, with a valid drivers license from one of the above allowed countries, can drive on a Non-Trinidadian License for 30 days before having to apply for a local license. Drivers from on of the allowed countries may use their license for a period of three (3) months commencing on the date of arrival into Trinidad and Tobago. After three (3) months, the driver will need to apply for an extension of their foreign license at any local license office located in Trinidad and Tobago.

At Airport locations: The renter and any additional drivers (including spouse or domestic partner) must be present and have a valid drivers license and must qualify to rent a vehicle. The renter and any additional drivers must have current boarding pass and show immigration stamp. All drivers must complete and submit the Customer Qualification Form stating where you will be staying and two (2) contact numbers.

At Non-Airport locations: The renter and any additional drivers (including spouse or domestic partner) must be present and must have a valid drivers license and must qualify to rent a vehicle. All renters and additional drivers must fill out the Customer Qualification Form and provide verification of current local home address using one of the following in the renters name: home utility bill, home telephone bill, contracted cell phone bill, or current months mortgage statement with no past due balances. An apartment or condo lease is not acceptable. All paperwork must be originals and not photocopies. Approval/Non approval fe

 

18. Roadside Protection

Roadside Plus (RSP) - If selected and paid for at the time of rental, Owner offers Roadside Plus, which provides 24/7 roadside assistance without additional charge.

RSP includes replacement of lost keys (including remote entry devices), towing (not related to an accident), flat tire service (if no inflated spare is available, vehicle will be towed), lockout service (if keys are locked inside the vehicle). jumpstarts, and fuel delivery service (limited supply to help reach nearest gas station). Tire damaged beyond repair as a result of driver neglect is the responsibility of the renter.

 

19. Third Party Liability

All Brands

Third Party Liability (TPL) The purchase of TPL is optional and not required. This protection is over and above the Basic Liability Coverage included in Time and Mileage rate. Customers who purchase TPL obtain additional coverage for damages and injuries to third parties up to the policy limit of $7,000,000 TTD (approximately $1,035,000 USD) each for death or bodily injury and for property damage arising from an accident.
